Purchase Wine

In contrast to its plush and pretty Napa Valley sibling, the 2014 vintage of our prized Sonoma Coast Chardonnay invites inspection with a beguiling nose of white flowers, star jasmine, and exotic tropical fruit. On the palate, notes of lemon zest and pineapple coyly announce themselves, while the wine’s subtle oak framing, layering and pleasing acidity combine to present a picture that is at once refined and elegant, while also remarkably light on its feet. Invoking a young Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the wine is reminiscent of a delicately delicious Chablis whose remarkable balance of fruit and minerality coquettishly tease and tantalize.

Our 2014 Napa Valley Chardonnay is a splendid testimonial to the vintage’s curious and exceptional growing season. While Mother Nature’s late August 6.0 rocker provided a jarring pre-harvest wake-up call, fruit from our Bald Mountain vineyard block came through …neither shaken nor stirred. Golden-straw in hue, the wine’s nose invites thoughtful pause and pondering. To entice these aromas, mindful swirling will elicit notes of pear and butterscotch. With a delicate acid backbone that lends a delightful freshness, the wine displays hints of lemon custard accented by pineapple, apricot, and washed stone. Barrel-fermented and aged 17 months in 52% new French oak, the wine’s precocious plushness rounds to a completeness and complexity through to its finish.

An alluringly deep-set ruby in the glass, the 2013 vintage of this remarkable Cabernet invites studied comparison with its acclaimed predecessors. A mélange of black licorice, delicate sage, and dried porcini mushroom coyly greets the nose, as a hint for what comes next. Indeed, boysenberry, black mission fig, anise and cocoa powder play off one another, with an additional suggestion of graphite and black pepper noticeable as the wine graduates to a most satisfying finish. Aged 20 months in 40% new French oak, the wine is lightly muscled with smoothly grained tannins throughout … demonstrating a nimbleness and precision that bring to mind the great welterweight champion, Sugar Ray Leonard, or, perhaps in a different riff, the incomparable Les Paul, picking with abandon across his legendary solid body namesake Gibson electric guitar. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon; 10% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot
$95.00  / Bottle
Deeply garnet in color, the wine presents a fascinating nose - expressing beguiling notes of black cherry, cedar, and hints of eucalyptus. The wine’s playful aromatics, however, prove to be a clever feint for the “dare-me” dance on the palate that ensues. Rich ripe, intense flavors intermingle teasingly …calling out juicy blackberries and blueberries accented by wet stone, and a touch of savory wild mushrooms. While the wine’s underlying structure, complexity and nectary palate weight provide an unmistakable bass-line to its exuberant flavors and chewy tannins, the wine comes together splendidly for a finish that is long and satisfying. Carefully aged in 31% new French oak for 25 months, the wine will mature handsomely over the next 12-15 years. 71% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon
$125.00  / Bottle
Bearing an extraordinary combination of fruit from a trifecta of Napa Valley’s most celebrated vineyard blocks, the 2013 Cor Leonis Cabernet is the epitome of our winemaking philosophy. Beyond its deeply ruby hues, the wine’s alluring nose beckons with notes of blackberry, anise, and hints of softly tanned leather. This enticing invitation notwithstanding, the hallmarks of this brilliant 2013 vintage assert their notability with the dense flavors of ripe blackberry, blueberry, and black plum. Lush in the mouth, the wine teases further with hints of mocha and cocoa nib. Twenty four months of aging in 75% new French oak provides elegant framing for this wine’s concentration and boldness. With its seamless integration of both sweet and finely grained tannins, the wine is opulent on the palate, and delivers an indulgently silky finish of length and elegance.

With the ripeness, concentration, and balance that cooler climate cabernet lovers have come to expect, our 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon speaks “Coombsville” …loud and clear. Upon arrival, the wine’s nose beckons with black currant, wild strawberry and licorice; …only to give way to a delicately textured mid-palate and delightful complexity of dark fruit, rhubarb, dried herbs and wet stone. Displaying a pleasing acidity, smoothly integrated tannins, and 19 months of barrel aging in 62% new French oak, the wine’s freshness and agility concludes with a satisfying finish of black fruit and leather. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot
